Accreditation

The AAUIF is an organization designed specifically to regulate, monitor and promote accredited elective ultrasound facilities throughout the United States.  The AAUIF's sole purpose is to make sure every accredited ultrasound facility operates at this industry's highest guidelines and protocols set forth by the AAUIF regulatory board and to ensure safe and credible elective ultrasound services for pregnant mothers.  Each AAUIF accredited facility has to complete a compliance process each quarter to ensure their facility is operating at the latest standards and guidelines.  All guidelines and protocols are overseen by a licensed medical obstetrician and with the some of the nations most skilled DMS Sonographers.  Moreover, the AAUIF's Guidelines and Protocols are derived from the medical ultrasound industry's guidelines and applied as they are relevant to the elective ultrasound industry.

(**Clients seeking elective ultrasound services from AAUIF accredited facilities should in no way substitute or replace these elective services from the standard of care of your primary caregiver.)

Leadership

AAUIF Board was created from years of facility owners collaborating amongst each other about creating a voice for the ultrasound industry. Thus it makes sense that the AAUIF Board is ran as a collaborative of legal, medical, and ultrasound facility professionals that bring their years of experience and knowledge to develop a creditable association. This mixture of resources influences everything from the association's guidelines all the way through to the accreditation process.

The Association is ran by a board of advisors.  The current seats include:

Dr. Robert Modugno, MD, MBA, FACOG.  With a career span of over 38 years, Dr. Modugno's credentials cannot be properly recognized here.  Throughout his career, his contributions to patient care has expanded to more that 10 medical practices, 11 hospitals, 2 countries including the US and South Africa, 7 hospital appointments, 2 academic appointments including clinical instructor and professor, has been licensed in 4 US States and South Africa (currently licensed in Georgia and North Carolina), he has multiple hospital privileges, a Fellow for American College of OB/GYN and North Carolina Medical Society and a post-graduate in MBA for Physician Executives.  For more information visit www.mysmoga.com.
